Omelette du Fromage

As a student of comedy, I'm trying to analyze my own sense of humor. Here are two videos, both of which kill me.

I follow the whole story, but when Steve gets to, "I beg your pardon?", it's one of the funniest things I've ever heard. Perhaps it is the perfect punctuation for the preceding absurdity. I feel like there's more to it.

All of the "Between Two Ferns" are hilarious, but I cannot stop laughing at Zach trying to get Michael to tickle him. Is it the absurdity of the desire and the panic that it elicits?

Anybody know why these two things are so funny?
